Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have been on honeymoon in the Maldives

What a way to start married life! Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have jetted away to the Maldives for a luxurious and relaxing honeymoon at the idyllic Soneva Fushi – an island retreat that has long been a favourite of celebrities. The newlyweds have shared glimpses at their romantic getaway on Instagram, telling fans that it was "paradise".

The Game of Thrones star shared glimpses at the activities they had been enjoying together during their stay, including cycling around the island, dining on sushi together, and enjoying cocktails at the island’s overwater bar. "Such a magical place," she captioned the snaps.

Meanwhile, Joe told fans "I found happiness", as he shared photos of his new wife lounging at the beach bar, and strolling across the white sand beach, along with a video of himself going down a water slide that runs into the sea from the island’s Out of the Blue bar.

The couple are yet to share any glimpses inside their villa, but they would have had their pick from idyllic beachfront residences on either the sunrise or sunset side of the island. According to the Soneva Fushi website, the sunrise side offers the most privacy, ideal for the celebrity honeymooners. Sophie and Joe could enjoy facilities including their own private swimming pool, gym and steam room in the accommodation which ranges from £1,138 to £22,345 per night, depending on the size of villa they have chosen.

Our Recent Visit to Movenpick Resorts of Maldives

Our recent visit is at one of the most relaxing resorts surrounded by pristine beaches, shallow and calm lagoon, and beautiful house reef. Movenpick Kuredhivaru Maldives set itself amongst the best resorts in the serene atoll of Noonu.

Airport Arrival | Seaplane Ride | Resort Arrival

Since we arrive from the city of Male, we straight ahead went to counter 51 to find the airport representative, there he was smiling and waiting for us. It did not take him long to tag all our luggage, walked and assisted us for our seaplane check-in. There was quite a queue so he offered to take our passports and do the check-in by himself in our behalf. It was a swift and efficient service from the welcoming team. We took the seaplane bus to the seaplane terminal and waited not too long to board and off we go.

MovenpickWaterVilla

Our flight flew directly from the Male to Noonu Atoll which took us 40 minutes of scenic ride. For first timers in Maldives, the view is a full treat so always ready your camera and try to pick the window seat :).
Landing was very smooth and the full team of Movenpick awaits us at their arrival pavilion, lined up with Bodu Beru and welcoming team holding up welcome drinks and cold towels to refresh after the trip.
When we arrive we did a swift check-in and registration, and we didn’t wait too long to start enjoying the hospitality at the Latitude for lunch while the team took our luggage’s straight to our villas. You should never go hungry when on holiday and at Movenpick they made sure that we are filled with delectable cuisines from the start.

Villas

We stayed in the beautiful and spacious Overwater Pool Villa Lagoon that is built on stilts above the crystal blue lagoon. Upon opening the door, we were welcomed with huge glass bottom floor, a full glass pane that gave us perfect view of private pool then through the ocean. Usually an entry level category gives you just what you need but our villa impressed us with what if offers: a huge walk-in room hence we need not see our clothes dangling on our view in the room. In between the glass bottom floor you will find two separate sliding doors, one to the fully equipped bathroom, and the other to the gorgeous bedroom that is fitted with a super comfortable bed, linen and mini bar. The balcony with pool gave us an ample amount of space to move around, relax, and loose all the unwanted energies.
Should you wish to enjoy direct access to the super fine beach then you worry not because Beach Suites with Pool offers great space, comfortable bedroom and all important facilities that you need and above it all the privacy on this villa category is excellent.
For families or groups of friends traveling, you are perfectly covered on their Beach Spa Residence - Three Bedroom which comes with two rooms with king beds, one room with twin beds that can also be converted to a king bed, a dining table along the comfy living room, a private spa room with two treatment table. Lush vegetation provides excellent privacy yet on your private pool you can see the beach and the sea.

Restaurants and Bars

We never run out of options for dining, there were three restaurants to choose from during our stay.
We kicked it off with early lunch on our arrival at Latitude 5.5 which has got unique architecture built with authentic bamboos, we love this venue and we highly recommend it specially when chilling by the main public pool. You can hang out too at the bar area just adjacent to the restaurant.
Breakfast was some experience, once during your stay you should definitely give it a try, worth the penny, you can either go for the full on breakfast spread or keep it simple with continental floating breakfast. It is one of the most instagrammable photos!
Onu Marche offers a mix of western, oriental and local cuisine which we have tried. We experience the Arabian Night on our stay and kept our feet at the beach side table. If you want to keep your feet clean you may also just stay at the concrete side of the restaurant.

Facilities and Activities

We had a short stay so we had to miss the spa treatments but sure we took a very good look of all the offerings they have. In general, most of the Spa in the Maldives do offer relaxation and rejuvenating experience, at Sun Spa by Esthederm, whilst focusing on giving you a full relaxation and feeling rejuvenated, they also promote a holistic approach where they combine both mental and physical elements to make you a better you!
For early risers, they offer yoga classes on the overwater pavilion.
The food is great at this resort so if you wish to shed some of the calories, they do have 24/7 fitness center available for you!

Our Trip to Constance Moofushi Resort & Spa

Walking around the island barefoot was truly idyllic, the wide beaches with its warm breeze blew us away. If you have been to The Maldives more than a couple of times and experiencing different resorts of Maldives just like us, you will definitely agree with big YES!

Recently we stayed at Constance Moofushi and Constance Halaveli. Let’s set apart the story for the latter and focus first on the highlight we experienced at Constance Moofushi.  We are sharing some of our snaps for you, enjoy!

Airport Arrival

We have been greeted by their representative with such warm. Two of them came to meet and assisted us with the seaplane transfer; escorted us to their exclusive Constance Bus and one of them travelled with us from the Seaplane counter all the way to their exclusive, cozy and comfortable seaplane lounge.

Seaplane Lounge

The wait for our boarding time was not even close to 20 minutes, which is perfect, no matter how lovely the lounge is, don’t we all want to take off soonest and set our foot on the beach. We had enough time to enjoy the facilities they have to offer: foot massage chair, chilled welcome drinks, coffee, light snacks, and they even have few desktops in case you wish to quickly check on some work or print something.

The Seaplane Trip

When we say we have visited quite a couple of resorts, seaplane is not an exception, but even in multiple times that we have done this for almost the same route, the scenic experience it offers always kept us awed every time. Between Male airport to Constance Moofushi, it will take roughly 30 minutes, yet we made a quick stop at one resort before heading out to Constance Moofushi which was a good chance to have an overview of the other island nearby. It only took 5 minutes and then another 10 minutes and finally we arrived!

The Arrival

We arrived with such perfect weather, the crystal lagoon glistens as the seaplane landed smoothly and directly stopped near the arrival platform connected with a small jetty to the arrival pavilion.

We were welcomed by our hosts and guided to the reception where we met with the friendly team. Now this is where we felt a very relaxed ambience, it didn’t feel forced or rehearsed, everything just went with the flow. GM met us and graciously welcomed us too while the other team member handed a small pouch so we can bag our shoes to enjoy barefoot luxury! We also loved their welcome drink, so refreshing.

The Villas

We stayed on a Water Villa that is close to the main restaurant, the water just always amazes us, even though we are literally walking about it by the jetty, living right on it (almost in it) and seeing it all day long! The house reef access is also beautiful, from the water villa itself, you can comfortably walk down the wooden stairs and get down to the waters. The villa is very comfortable with its bed facing straight to the ocean, and not to mention we were seeing the sunset (a real plus). And the best thing on this water villa stay is we never heard big traffic of buggies running up and down the jetty. The resort does not used buggy on their jetties except for service. It is worth noting that they do not provide In Villa Dining or Room Service, so you won’t be hearing those delivery buggies as well.

They do have a different type of villa categories; Beach Villa and Senior Water Villas. The Beach Villas are cozy and comfortable as well with direct access to the white sandy beach. While the Senior Water Villas are the highest room category with bigger balcony size, additional high glass window, your own coffee maker, and gorgeous bathtub located in the open area of the bathroom. We promise, if you like star gazing, this is one best Maldives experience, soak in to your private bathtub and let the twinkling stars and fill your galactic desires.

Dining and Bar

There are two restaurants available for you to choose from and we dig the breakfast buffet at Manta Restaurant. Under the sky and open air dinner at Alizee Restaurant. The food was excellent, mouth watering!

While you also got two bars to enjoy. For all day chilling, the best place is Totem Bar where you got access to the pool, lagoon, and enjoy just get your light lunches. Caesar salad is spot on - fresh and delicious!

Manta Bar was just as fun in the evening where many of other guests gather together to really party, and we mean party with live DJ, drinks, mingling and dancing.

Facilities

The resort offers a beautiful shack where you can also relax and just get lost of time. You have access to the small hut with sun loungers, the ocean is your playground along with one of the widest best surrounding you. All non-motorized water sports available is for you to take for free, only if you need lessons then you need to get their assistance at an extra fee, otherwise, go for it as much as you like. If you feel tired, thirsty and the bar seems too far or your villa, don’t worry, the shack has got a free flow and self service corner where you can grab your chilled and cool drinks and even some cookies.

The spa is just as fabulous too! Get those worn out muscles to relax. They got you covered.

Staying fit is a thing but not really for us though :) Should you wish to keep on track with your fitness program, worry not, Constance Moofushi also got your back. They are equipped with a state of the art gym with fitness cardio equipment, free weights & strength machines. Also a Yoga pavilion.

Departure

The hardest part of the trip! We took a short 30 minutes trip from Constance Moofushi to Constance Halaveli. The send off was just a warm as the arrival too.

OUR TRIP TO VAKKARU MALDIVES RESORTS & SPA

It is our teams first visit to Vakkaru Maldives Resorts and overall it exceeds our expectation Allow us to narrate a summary of our 2 nights stay.

On arrival at the airport - the airport team did a really good job in checking on us if we are on our way and told us where to specifically see him and true enough he was waiting for us and greet us with a smile assisted us with our luggage and brought us all to Moonima Lounge while he does the check in for our domestic flight. We had a light lunch in the comfort of the lounge while waiting for our domestic flight. We took Manta Air, a short domestic flight to Daravandhoo airport. This airline is pretty much new and we are happy with its bigger leg room, a more comfortable seat, a friendly service by the flight attendant and the smooth landing by the captain.

Upon arrival at Dharavandhoo airport - we saw a big smile and felt the warm welcome of Zahid -- our island host/butler. He made us comfortable in the shuttle bus and to the speedboat waiting to take us to the island for about 30minutes but since the boat captain drived quite fast - it didn't feel 30mins at all and we are in the island.

On arrival in the island - is another warm welcome by Diana, Wael, G, Razan, Max and other staff that made us feel at home right away by their smile and comforting words to enjoy the stay even with the gloomy weather that day. They all have sunny personalities to start with.

At the Villa - we stayed in an Overwater Villa. This villa is spacious, and thoughtfully designed from its colour scheme, the materials and furniture. The overwater villa we stayed in had a super comfortable bed, pampering bathroom/tub/shower area with Appelles amenities, and stunning outdoor space. The villa is cozy, spacious, very tidy and smells so good and not to mention its stunning unobstructed view of the ocean. Kudos to the housekeeping team for doing such a wonderful job maintaining its quality.

Restaurants & Bar - on our first night, Diana hosted us a sumptous dinner at ONU, their Asian restaurant. ONU is The food is delectably good and the serving is of good portion. We also liked the ambience of each of their restaurant other than enjoying the good food. You'll see the difference of its theme and cuisine on each restaurant. The Isoletta - which is their Italian Restaurant is also of a different feel - I think there is a lot of olive trees around the restaurant while Onu is also made of bamboo being Asian. The Vakku Grill is stunning -- it is really a place for beach and barbecue. The seafood served that night is fresh and juicy. Really delicious! Another restaurant we want to special mention is the Amaany - their main and breakfast restaurant. Oh please don't skip your breakfast there - or you'll miss the wide variety of bread, cheeses, fresh fruits and juices and all other food you can think of for a perfect breakfast with a stunning view of the beach and ocean. Their main pool and bar is at the Cabana -they have one of the widest and biggest main pool in the Maldives and right next to it is the cozy bar with its own bartender to cater you with the drinks of your choice. Or if swimming isn't your thing - they have comfy lounge chairs and sofa around to just chill and enjoy a drink or sheesha. For sure you will find something else to do that will spike your interest and mood.

Spa - The team went to see around the spa before the treatment and to our surprise - male spa staff in the front desk who welcomed us. But we are more surprised with their thorough knowledge of the spa amenities and their products. Sujay - explained each one with a free consultation of what will be the right product for our skin and one of us really ended up buying and true enough she is so happy with her beauty product purchase. Steam, Sauna and Jacuzzi with a view is available after every treatment at the relaxation area. A special thank you to Putu and Vipin for the pampering. You guys are high recommendable.

Other facilities -- One of the biggest kids & teens club in the Maldives I have seen -- Parrotfish ( kids club ) and Coconut Club ( recreation & teens club ) is stunning. The staff are so enthusiastic too. The Vakkaru Retreat is equally as beautiful -- with so much variety or wines and spirits.

The beach is stunning, water is clear - (even it was gloomy most of our stay but we know it could be clearer if the weather is good ). We know the house-reef surrounding the island is rich and colourful being in Baa Atoll. Another thing we appreciate as guests are the lighting in your pathways -- it is good that the island is well lit, pavement is clean and well maintained.

Thank you to the Sales and Finance Team for showing us around and for letting us experience this timeless sanctuary - Thank you Zhilah, Diana,Wael, Maria, Max, Razan. Congratulations and thank you chef Onuver for the good food and good job for looking into each of te restaurants -- you and your department did a good job too in addressing some of our dietary requirement. to F & B Team -- we cant fail to mention Shaan at the Amaany restaurant who attentively took care of us every morning. Please give a pat on the back to Shaan for exceptional attention to detail and service - to mention, the first day he saw one of us pouring sugar in our fruit juice, there came Shaan bringing sugar syrup without us asking. The 2nd day he knows already what type of coffee we are drinking. When I came from the buffet, my cappuccino is already on my table waiting just in time for me. He knows that one of us loves mango - so a freshly sliced is already on the table. Impeccable Shaan -- small things makes it really standout. wish that all service staff are like you. You are a gem. Another Kudos for Zahid for taking care of us...Thank you.

Overall -- a special mention to the HR and Training Team headed by Joyce and to GM Nicholas and G for having such a wonderful, and warm staff -- each one seems to know there role and adding extras to it. They smile at you yet looking at their eyes -- it is smiling too. You have a very good team so Kudos to all of you.

You guys rock! and we are highly recommending Vakkaru!
